about Cass and Alex

Cassie:

From a young age Cassie has always been creating and attentive to the smallest details of the beauty around her. After leaving nursing school, Cassie moved to California where she discovered her love for art and creativity again. While she was living in California, Cassie’s friend was working for a floral designer in Southern California and through this friend, Cassie saw a never before seen art with flowers. She was inspired by how the floral designs were imperfect, asymmetrical yet perfectly balanced. In 2017 Cassie moved back to West Michigan and started her flower journey by starting a flower garden in her parents backyard. She grew all of the flowers she found to be so unique and not yet introduced to Michigan. She tended this garden, and worked multiple jobs for over 5 years while growing and investing in Cass and Jean. Cass and Jean is now a thriving floral business that serves Michigan and more recently South Florida.

Alex:

Cassie met Alex when she moved to South Florida in 2023. If you’ve gotten to meet Alex, you’ve been met by his personable heart and ability to walk into a room make friends with anyone and know how to be a team player. Alex’s background working 9 years as Director of Operations for large scale events and festivals and tour managing has made helping Cassie come so natural and easy.

Together Cassie and Alex are down to earth, personable, fun loving, and both perfectionist when it comes to their crafts. In their free time they enjoy going to the gym, going to the beach, exploring new cities and finding the best food.

Who’s “Jean?”

Jean is Cassie’s grandmother. Jean started a greenhouse business that Cassie worked on growing up in West Michigan. Jean passed away before Cass and Jean was ever dreamt up but Jean’s legacy has played such a large role in influencing Cassie to build something from the ground up in spite of many obsticles. When Cassie felt lost in who she was and what she was going to do with her life - a memory of her Grandma Jean kept coming to mind- her grandma was down by the roadside flower stand helping customers pick out flowers. She remembered how happy she was and how connected to nature and the community she was. Jean created a life that she enjoyed and that brought other people joy. Jean has instilled such a value for leaving a lasting legacy onto the next generation in Cassie’s heart and through Cass and Jean Flower Co., Cassie believes she can pass down what Jean has passed to her - gratitude, beauty, perserverence, and faith in God.
